About the NSAF

At the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation (NSAF), we believe greatness begins with opportunity. Since 1991, we’ve been dedicated to transforming lives through athletics—empowering youth athletes to rise, achieve, and inspire. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are driven by a single vision: to help the next generation soar higher than they ever imagined.

With a mission to inspire and empower, NSAF has invested over $5 million in helping thousands of student-athletes reach their full potential. Nearly 800 NSAF alumni have competed at the Olympic Games, earning more than 220 medals—proof that when young people are given superior guidance, mentorship, and opportunity, they can achieve the extraordinary.

NSAF’s impact extends through premier national competitions, including Nike Indoor Nationals, Nike Outdoor Nationals, the Great American XC Festival, and the HBCU Challenge, as well as elite developmental events like American JavFest and the Ironwood Throws Classic. Internationally, Team NSAF competes and builds global connections in Cuba and Iceland.

The foundation’s grant programs, totaling approximately $380,000 annually, enable athletes to travel and compete at USATF Junior Nationals and international events, while specialized initiatives like Project Javelin Gold and Project Triple Jump provide targeted support for emerging talent.
